Our Story
Prairie Forge Plumbing exists because too many Chicago homeowners have the same story: a plumber who quoted one price on the phone and charged another once the van pulled up, work that looked fine until it failed a year later, or a no-show that cost them a full day off work for nothing. Those aren’t isolated bad experiences, they’re common enough that people have come to expect them from a plumber.
We built our process to be the opposite of that experience. Every job starts with an honest look at the problem, a written price you approve before any work begins, and a commitment to leave your home the way we found it, minus the plumbing problem. We handle both residential and commercial plumbing across Chicago and Cook County, from a single dripping faucet to a full sewer line replacement.
We’re not the biggest plumbing company in the city, and we don’t want to be. We’d rather do fewer jobs well than take on more than we can actually stand behind.
That means being upfront when a fix is simple and inexpensive, even if a more complicated recommendation would cost you more. It means showing up when we say we will, not sometime in a vague afternoon window. And it means being the kind of company you’d actually recommend to a neighbor, not just the one you happened to find first when your kitchen started flooding.

Residential and Commercial, Handled the Same Way
A single-family home in Cook County and a commercial building downtown have very different plumbing systems, but the same standard applies to both: diagnose first, quote in writing, do the work right, leave the space clean.
